Lido Shores Beach Pavilion Work Day A Success

Diane Desenberg, Sharon Fitzpatrick and Carol Bowen pitch in to pull weeds
A group of your neighbors gave up their Saturday morning by giving back to Lido Shores. 14 volunteers rolled up their sleeves and worked off those excess holiday pounds cleaning up the easement and beach pavilion area from 9:00 am until well past noon.

Cutting back and removing Brazilian Pepper trees occupied one group, while others worked at pruning, pulling weeds, clearing and raking debris. Several truck loads of branches and leaves were hauled off, with a few piles still to be picked up.

Landscape Committee Chair Ken Abt, along with Sharon Fitzpatrick of Deeply Rooted Landscaping, kept the teams of volunteers busy and organized.

Moving forward, your LSPOA Board voted last month to have Deeply Rooted Landscaping work to keep the area between the parking lot and the Pavilion
maintained and has hired a full- time landscaping contractor to mow common areas and keep the beach easement better groomed.

Work is also continuing at the Bocce Court. Elliott Himelfarb spent the morning adding more topping material and leveling the the playing field. New benches are also being installed alongside the court and near the foot wash area by the entrance to the beach path.

Thanks to everyone who pitched in to keep Sarasota's finest neighborhood looking it's best!

A Bocce Tournament is scheduled for the afternoon of Sunday, December 15th to officially inaugurate the court. More details to come. And don't forget the Sunday, December 1st Sunset Gathering at the Pavilion at 4:30 pm, one hour before sunset.  ~ Bob Thill

Holiday Sightings: We received a festive photo from neighbors Carol and Phil Fuoco. This was their sixth year participating in Philadelphia's Thanksgiving Day Parade, the oldest in the country. They rode the Riverboat float with guest star Debbie Gibson and Carol reports "It was really cold!"
