| Creating a park-like sanctuary on Center Place |

| Bernard and Terry |
It's been a busy month for tree planting in Lido Shores. Dr. Terry Nugent and Bernard Melanson are creating a mid-island sanctuary on the lot they purchased at 1160 Center Place. A new wall surrounds the property which adjoins the home they also bought at 1131 Morningside Place (formerly owned by George Vlachos) next door to their original home at 1121 Morningside Place, creating a family compound.

This week, on the Center Place lot, they brought in nearly 60 trees of all sizes and varieties, including several types of palms and oaks. According to Terry, "What we are trying to accomplish is very simple. Our goal is to provide an enclosed property with a walking park or garden and a guest house for family and aging parents. We have a strong sense of family, are close to both families in Canada and want to add to the quality of their life to allow for leisurely stays here in Lido Shores. We also want to stay true to the character of this Sarasota School of Architecture house as we give it a fresh new look."

Bernard and Terry are also renovating 1131 Morningside Place, both inside and out. It's going to be a great, updated addition to Lido Shores eclectic charm.
