Strandhus Face-lift

Strandhus at dusk

Last week, the Sarasota Architectural Foundation (SAF) members and Lido Shores neighbors got a chance to see the newly transformed Strandhus at 1212 Westway Drive. Scott and Christine Key have spent the past three years turning the original 1956 ugly duckling into a swan.

Captivating water feature entryway
The facelift is dramatic, featuring a water feature entry and contemporary design. Strandhus is Swedish for "Beach House."

The relatively modest-sized home has a relaxed vibe and boasts a roof-top viewing deck with what realtors affectionately call spectacular gulf and sunset views. Nicely done, Key's, and thanks for graciously sharing your new pride and joy with your neighbors.
