But volunteering can have negative consequences. Both Ken and Richard got into poison ivy and are suffering the consequences of it. Ken's wife Peggy says his rash is mostly on his arms and legs. Richard's rash was so extensive that he needed to be seen by a doctor. Fortunately, Lisa already had a dermatology appointment scheduled and gave it to Richard. According to Lisa, "The rash was spreading so quickly, he was running out of skin for it to spread to. It was the 'worst case of poison ivy' the doctor had ever seen!
So Lido beach goers beware: Leaves of three—leave it be: leaves of five—let it thrive!

Look out for poison ivy on your right, just after you go through the beach gate toward the beach. It used to grow up a tree by the path. Now, it's a little further away by the wall. It's been cut back and sprayed, but it is mighty tenacious.
