Recognize this? It's not the Myakka River... but our beach access and parking lot. Tropical Storm Eta brought with it on Wednesday, November 11, a day of wind whipped rain, reaching gusts of 53-miles an hour. It lingered about 70-miles off shore... dumping nearly 7-inches of rain in a 24-hour period.
The storm drove a moderate surge from the Gulf up and down Lido Key, causing evacuations from motels along south Lido Key.. (our visiting friends from Kansas City included).

| Crews working to restore power |
The incessant wind knocked out power to the usual suspects in Lido Shores... the primary outages beginning at around 5:00pm along Morningside Place, Center Place and Morningside Drive... finally getting restored by Thursday afternoon.

| Mote boat rams Bob & Susie Thill's dock |
Our dock at 1456 John Ringling Parkway got an unexpected visitor when a pontoon boat from Mote Marine broke free and wound up stuck between the dock and rip rap seawall. We also lost a couple of newly planted palm trees.

A quick tour of the neighborhood showed a few branches down... but no other visual damage.
