Beach Artifacts Surface

Old Park sign and concrete piling long buried under feet of sand

Milder, more seasonal conditions seem to have slowed our beach erosion for now.  But the relentless, scouring December and January high tides unearthed some interesting beach artifacts.  On a recent visit to photograph the Eagle-Osprey nesting feud, I ran into Richard LaBrie, who pointed out some other finds hidden until now beneath several feet of sand.

The letters ARK visible on sign
One is this sign that was apparently posted some 10-yards out from the current embankment.  The letters ARK on the upper right corner likely were part of the word PARK.  The rest is not legible.  Any thoughts from longtime Lido Shorians?

Also, several concrete pilings were uncovered.  They're lined up in a row extending into the surf and attached with a now rusted metal cable.  Again, anyone with any ideas please let us know.
