Amazing Show Includes More than Sunset at Sunday's Gathering
Sunday's Sunset Gathering included a bonus aerial display and full moon rising
LSPOA's Sunset Gathering offered more than it's share of excitement this past Sunday. The always enjoyable solar show over the Gulf was nearly forgotten as almost two-dozen Lido Shorian's also had a front row seat to an awe inspiring aerial display.
As the vino, Budweiser and other beverages poured, some neighbors were lamenting that they hadn't seen an eagle or osprey sighting. Then, right on cue, out of the sky came a pair of each, continuing their ongoing battle for nesting rights.

Like a fighter jet dogfight... the birds of prey circled each other, diving, careening and rolling in the air over the Pavilion.
The show ended with one of the eagles landing in the platform nest in Tom McInerney's backyard, with the osprey's executing one final flyby before zooming off.
The sunset and avian aerial display were just part of the unusual
evening. Completing nature's trifecta... a full moon was also rising in
the east. One more reason to love Lido Shores.
