The Sarasota Police Department informed the St. Armands Circle Association that there were at least two men out in the Circle that were stealing women’s purses while the women were dining at St. Armands Circle restaurants. One of the duo would be a lookout to identify a victim, while the other would move in, take the purse quickly and vanish.
The police may have apprehended one of the purse snatchers but do not know how many more people may be involved in this operation.
