New Fence Borders North Lido Beach Park

New fence bordering North Lido Park.
Sarasota County has been busy of late, clearing invasive species from North Lido Beach Park along the Lido Shores and Tom and Paula McInerney property lines. The latest addition is a new, wood-rail fence, that currently ends where our property begins.

County plans to plant native species in cleared area.
Beach Landscaping Committee Chair Ken Abt is hoping to change that. Ken met recently with a parks department official on site, and asked that the county consider extending the fence along our parking area and up to the beginning of the beach dunes.

Ken tells us that the official thought that was a good idea, so, keep your fingers crossed, we could have a new fence to define our Lido Shores beach property line from park visitors.

Meantime, the beach committee is hard at work putting together a plan to restore our pavilion area landscaping with native, non-invasive, salt tolerant trees and plants. The Board of Directors plans to review the committee's proposal at it's upcoming May 7th meeting.

Stay tuned.
