Golfer Marg Mills On Fire

The 2012 LPGA Symetra's Tour Sara Bay Classic Pro-Am was held at Sara Bay Country Club on Wednesday. The women on this tour are professionals playing one level below the LPGA. Lido Shorian Marg Mills' team included a group of Sara Bay members along with golf pro Paola Moreno from Colombia (shown above center). And they won the GROSS competition—beating out all the other teams, primarily men, with a gross score of 58. Says Marg, "That's 14-shots under par! We would have also placed third in the net division with a 43, and we birdied the last nine-holes straight. Our team was on fire!"

Husband Dan was their lone spectator and groupie, following the team around the course. "This huge win was a great way to end the season," Marg said. Now the Mills' are volunteering at the tourney for three-days as well as hosting two very lovely girls playing in the Pro-Am this week from California and Brazil.

"If you like professional sports, it's your chance to see 144 of the best women's golfers in the world," Sara Bay general manager Paul Barone said. It's bound to be an exciting tournament if they all play at least half as well as Marg and her team!
