THANK YOU to our Lido Shores Neighbors from Architecture Sarasota
This years Architecture SarasotaMOD Weekend was a huge success with sold-out events and great educational and celebratory programming in recognition of Philip Hiss, the originator of Lido Shores and “the man who made Sarasota Modern”.
From the sold-out opening Party Under the Banyan Tree in the most magical setting outside the Hiss Studio (Thank You, Andrew and Beth Garvin and Tony Garvin!) to the excellent symposium The Vision of Philip Hiss, sold out kayak and trolley tours, and the highlight, our walking tour Tropical Modernism: Philip Hiss’ Lido Shores, the Weekend was a resounding success.

| Trolley and Walking Tours highlighted 13 homes in Lido Shores |
We had a record 13 houses open for touring in Lido Shores this weekend, and we are especially grateful to those homeowners who went above and beyond, generously opening their homes for tour participants to experience great architecture and design in our incredible location.
We always get such wonderful feedback from those on the tour about their enthusiasm and delight in being able to visit so many amazing homes, this year including 5 homes that were designed by Philip Hiss and Hiss Associates.
Thank you to all of our Lido Shores community for allowing us to host this memorable weekend here in our neighborhood, and to the many of you who served as Docents for the walking tour and at other events.
