Robert Charles "Bob" Barrett   1952 - 2021

Lido Shorian Robert Charles "Bob" Barrett passed away November 1, 2021 in Orlando, FL.  He died peacefully, surrounded by family and friends.

Bob is survived by his wife Bobbie, his children Jeff Barrett (Nicole), son Barrett (Laura), Cuyler Hill, Michael Anne Woodard (Michael), Merritt Gilbert (Ben), and Torrey Hill (Katie), and his grandchildren.

Bob and wife Bobbie Barrett, or "The Bobs," lived at 1475 John Ringling Parkway and were long-time members of LSPOA.  Even though they split time between Sarasota and the Orlando area... both were frequent attendees over the years at LSPOA Potlucks and Sunset Gatherings.

Bob was born on January 12, 1952 in Keokuk, IA and grew up in Macomb, IL.  He received a Bachelor's degree with honors from the University of Illinois in 1974, and his Juris Doctorate with honors from the University of Florida in 1978.

He was a pillar of the Central Florida legal community.  He was frequently named to numerous Best and Top 100 Lawyers lists throughout his career.

His most impressive talent was his ability to make others feel important.  His sense of humor and genuine interest in people had a gravitational effect.  Everybody wanted to be around Bob.

Bob loved being on the water.  Whether navigating the channels of Sarasota from their Lido Shores home on New Pass, or cruising the Butler Chain of Lakes, his passion for boating was contagious.
