Artist and Lido Shorian Miriam Cassell brought her book club out of quarantine and onto Lido beach. Members of her club met last week at the Pavilion. The book club has a membership of 10-women and began 22-years ago. Through the years some members have left and new members joined and book club rules have changed as well.
Miriam explains: "We formally meet every other month from September-May (5 books a year). We meet informally in between months and summer to discuss poetry, classics, short stories, movies or attend cultural events in Sarasota.
The book club is very grateful to have had the opportunity to access the Pavilion during this difficult time.
I wish to add my personal remark that Stuart and I (1240 Center Place) are blessed to live in this wonderful community."
