New Lido Island Forming?

Is a new island forming (?) off Lido Key - as seen from Ken and Carrie Cox's house on Westway Drive

Seemingly overnight... a new island (ok, a sand bar) is forming just off our Lido beach shoreline. According to Ken and Carrie Cox... the island "magically" appeared off-shore Saturday morning.  They've seen it before... but only rarely.  So the Cox's snapped these pix while it it's still around.

Shall we name it Coxlandia or ????

It's apprearance is most likely due to Longboat Key's beach renourishment program.  Dredge it from the pass... dump it on Longboat... and voila... weeks later it starts accumulating pretty close to where it came from in the first place.

LSPOA President Dr. Bob Lifeso suggested an "Island Naming Contest" be held for this new found land, with the winner to be determined by the members at our upcoming Annual Meeting, January 23rd at Bird Key Yacht Club.  

Ken Cox's suggestion is “Key of Requirement”, a nod to the Harry Potter room that appears and disappears as needed.  Let us know your ideas.  Just thinking out loud here but the winner could receive an all expenses paid round trip to the newly named island.
