The Board of Directors has contracted with Robert Young, PhD, a licensed professional geologist and Professor of Coastal Geology at Western Carolina University to review the New Pass dredging permits and the permitting process, as well as our beach erosion. Young has done extensive work with the issue of dredging Big Pass and its potential effects on Siesta Key. Young will conduct a site visit at the end of June or first week in July.
The Board and Beach Committee are also currently deciding whether to reinstall the Private Property sign and where.
From Sunday night through Tuesday morning, Colin drenched and flooded the area with up to 10-inches of rain.
