Almost 100 Lido Shorians and their guests gathered on a hot
and sunny Sunday, July 5 to enjoy the annual “Hot Dogs on the Beach” event and
watch the boats and jet skis zip by during the Sarasota Power Boat Grand Prix
Races finale.
This year saw a new hot dog vendor, Jason Milburn of Jay’s Hot Dogs, as our
previous vendor retired. Jay was up to the task, and despite the heat and
humidity, indefatigably served scores of delicious hot dogs, fixin’s, sodas and
chips to neighbors and guests. Later, Mary Lee Bischoff and
Maria Nolet, of Concord, MA, a guest of Social Chair Carol Bowen, served popsicles and ice cream to the happy beachgoers.
All in all, a perfect ending to the July 4th holiday weekend!
