On Saturday,
Sue and Bob Lifeso were concerned. Rain was in the forecast... and some 65 people had RSVP'ed for Sunday's Spring Potluck at their home. Would there be enough room for everyone to eat inside?
As it turned out, they need not have fretted. Sunday was windy but warm. And the gusty conditions didn't dampen a spirited spring fling on the bayou.

It was new
Social Coordinator Carol Bowen's first big event, and she thanked former social director and new
LSPOA President Anne Essner for showing her the ropes. Committee members
Carol Fuoco and Jean Williams worked their magic by staggering the courses rather than putting everything out at once.
Kathryn Dunlap made sure everyone had their name tags, updated and prepared by
Kathy Edstrom. And the new alphabetical method of determining who brings what seemed to work out quite well.
Lido Shorians carried in, then devoured, a bevy of appetizers, main courses that included Italian favorites to tenderloins and ribs, as well as an array of desserts. The wind may have wreaked a little havoc on tablecloths and hairdo's, but, as
Bob Lifeso pointed out, worked to keep the pesky no-see-ums at bay.
Bob Essner continued to up the curve on the wine selection, and members seemed to pour an extra glass or two in gratitude. Promptly at 8:00 pm, several shoulders were tapped and volunteers swiftly whisked the tables and chairs provided by the
City of Sarasota Neighborhood Services out to a waiting trailer.
Dan Mills was spotted inside the trailer organizing the controlled mayhem.
Major kudos to all who volunteered and special thanks to the
Lifeso's for graciously hosting!
