Lido Shores has Front Row for Super Boat Grand Prix

It's a weekend long party and we've got front row center all beach access.  If you haven't experienced Sarasota's premier event of the summer, you're in for a treat.  After days of hype and hoopla, the 27th Annual Grand Prix races actually get underway on Sunday, July 3.  40 super fast, (up to 170 miles per hour), and super loud boats are scheduled to stir up the waves just off our Lido shores.

Nearly 50 - Lido Shorians and friends have already signed up to enjoy Chicago Style Hot Dogs and the Pavilion shade between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm that day.  The first race is set to start at 11 am, so we offer a couple of viewing tips for the uninitiated.
  • The boats enter and leave the race area through New Pass, so we get a birds eye view as the sleek boats slowly throttle down through the channel.
  • Bring binoculars if you want to see any of the races, though.  They're held directly in front of the main public beach.
  • BYOB if you're thirsty for adult beverages. Some industrious folks have been known to bring lawn chairs and set up umbrellas or tents.
See you on Super Sunday!
