Shown above, a recently discovered vintage 1950's postcard on Ebay showing the lush plantings along Ringling Boulevard on the way to Lido Beach. This flourishing prose appears on the back of the postcard: "Along the palm-studded Gulf of Mexico, Lido Beach in an unsurpassed setting of semi-tropic beauty, invites the visitor to a refreshing swim and the lazy contentment of the sun-drenched sands. This is the view of the boulevard which leads to the beach from Sarasota."

New plantings along Ringling Boulevard to Lido Beach, June 2011

Sidewalks and parking lots along Lido Beach are being spruced up with new native plantings. Irrigation systems are also being added along the sidewalks.
