| Janice Lindeman Blivas 1934-2022 |
Neighbor and friend Janice Blivas passed away peacefully on June 18th this year at the age of 88. She died surrounded by family at her daughter's home in Tampa. Janice called Sarasota her home for almost 50-years, although she originally was from the Chicago area. Janice moved to Lido Shores with her husband Donald Blivas and daughter Tara in 1973. They lived in an original Sarasota School of Architecture home at 238 Morningside Drive.
Throughout her life, Janice was a fabulous tennis player, competing for many years on several leagues at the Bath and Raquet Club and the Longboat Key Club. An excellent golfer as well, Jan loved hitting the links with friends, her daughter and in a women's golf league. Jan would often be seen with her family at LSPOA Potlucks and the Grand Prix Boat Races on the beach.
Jan was very social and involved in numerous philanthropic organizations, chairing and participating in countless events in the community over the years. She loved attending the Opera, the Asolo, the Florida Studio Theatre, the Sarasota Ballet, the Van Wezel Performing Arts Center and the Players Theater.

| Jan Blivas with daughter Tara and grandchildren |
Best known for her big smile, sparkling eyes, kind heart and delightful personality, Jan was a great friend and truly cared about people. Jan was an amazing mother and her love for her daughter Tara was immense. By far Jan's greatest joy in life was being a grandma to her three beautiful grandchildren, Fletcher (18), Murphy (16), and Wellesley (13). Jan's family was blessed to share their home with her for the last six months of her life.
A celebration of Jan's life will be held on Sunday, September 18th at 5 p.m. at the Tampa Yacht and Country Club hosted by her daughter Tara Blivas Eckhoff.
