No green flash, but a beautiful sunset (is there any other kind?), greeted LSPOA members who gathered Sunday evening to share stories about the summer, appetizers and an adult libation or two. It was also nice to see our Lido landscaping looking so good. The Sabal palms planted July 6th look healthy, the sea grass along the beach path is a shimmering lavender and the wildflowers are in spectacular bloom.

We can't thank
Kent Williams enough for watering and giving the beach vegetation a great jump start. Admiring the work so far at the sunset gathering,
Ken Abt suggested now might be the time to start thinking about the possibility of a
Phase II Landscape Plan. Ken plans to present some ideas to the board at it's upcoming November 5th meeting.
For those who are interested, LSPOA board meetings are held at 5:15 pm the first Monday of each month at the
Sarasota Sailing Squadron in Ken Thompson Park. Email any suggestions or ideas to our
President Bob Thill:

A couple of other random notes.
Larry Reinebach noticed the pavilion's large fire extinguisher was missing and he volunteered to get it replaced. And
Bob Essner floated the idea of a
Bocce Court near the pavilion parking area. Buona idea, Roberto!
